Why we do Black Friday differently

50% of ALL OUR SALES today, Friday 27th November, will go to Newlife, a charity supporting disabled children.

With Black Friday approaching, there is an ongoing pressure for independent sellers to follow along with the discount models of large corporations. Our products are lovingly created from sustainable materials – a process which takes time and care. Because of this, we simply don’t feel that Black Friday aligns with our values.
Instead, we are donating 50% of our revenue on Black Friday to NEWLIFE – a charity that supports disabled and terminally ill children across the UK. As well as this, Nomads donates its old samples, rejects and dated stock to Newlife for them to recycle, re-use and re-sell as necessary to gain funds.
Nomads and Newlife have worked together for over 10 years, and this year is no different.

Who are Newlife?

Newlife has been providing vital support to families with disabled and terminally ill children for almost 30 years and has changed the lives of more than 24,000 children.
As well as its equipment grant service, it also runs the only emergency equipment loan service which aims to get equipment to families in crisis anywhere in the UK in 72 hours, operates a nurse-run helpline, loans specialist toys through its Play Therapy Pods and campaigns for change in local and national policies related to equipment for disabled children.

Meet Emilio

Three-year-old Emilio O’Brennan-Pizer, from East Sussex, was born with a rare heart defect where the left side of his heart is underdeveloped. He underwent surgery to help the blood circulation in his heart, but sadly there is still not enough oxygen reaching the tissues in his body.
Due to his many complex medical conditions, Emilio needs a buggy to travel around safely. Emilio was using the same buggy he’d had since he was a baby and massively outgrown it in both height and weight.
The family turned to Newlife and with a little help from Nomads, they were able to provide Emilio with the £705 specialist buggy he needed.
This equipment means that Emilio and his family can get out more together to go for walks and do activities in nature, to go on holidays and family day trips, and spend quality time together.
